Most students get confused when choosing a stream after 10th grade.
When a student gets good marks in 10th, parents often pressure them to take Science, aiming for NEET or JEE, regardless of their interest.
And if they get below-average marks, they are pressured to take Arts.
These decisions are the worst ways to choose a stream for a student.
In this post, we'll discuss how to choose the best stream for you after 10th.
Welcome to Notelooms, I'm your friend Hriday Kalita, the author of this blog. So let's start.
Arts, Science, or Commerce
Before starting the blog, let's understand the basics.
There are three streams in India to choose from after 10th: Arts, Science, and Commerce.
After 10th, you have to choose one according to your interest.
Let's discuss them briefly.
Arts
Arts is a stream where students learn subjects like Geography, History, Political Science, Education, and many more.
If you have an interest in social sciences and want to explore them deeply, then the Arts stream is for you.
Most people think Arts is only for below-average students, but it offers many great career options.
Although Arts is easier than Science and Commerce, it has more competition. However, if you are interested, you can surpass the competition easily.
Science
Science is the most controversial stream.
Science is for those who want to pursue careers like engineering or medical and have a deep interest in these fields.
Science is harder compared to other streams, so you must be dedicated.
Don't take Science due to peer pressure. Many top students get trapped by this.
Know your interests first to avoid future regret.
Science is not for everyone.
Commerce
Lastly, we have Commerce, which is often underrated.
It’s not for the majority.
As a Commerce student myself, I can tell you this: Commerce is for those interested in business, money, accounting, etc., and who want to be their own boss.
The subjects in Commerce are very different from those in 10th grade, so you'll be learning everything from scratch.
Subjects include Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics, etc.
Which Stream is for You?
Choosing a stream should always depend on the student's interests.
Forcing a decision or having biased information about a stream is harmful since it's about the student's future.
So, be careful and choose wisely.
